Oneplus buds Z - Should you buy? 3 month usage review

Hello Guys, 

I am oneplus user from the day of the launch of oneplus 6T. And I loved that phone so I went with oneplus' other products like OnePlus bullet type-c (got it with phone for free)(decent), OnePlus bullet wireless 2 (awesome but overpriced) and Finally I went with onplus buds Z.

Was it a good decision? Lets find out.

I have been using Oneplus buds Z for 3 months now and I could say now that I have used this product in all possible conditions.

So not to keep this long here are my pros and cons with this product after which you can decide wether to buy this or skip for newer version?

Comfortable - 

As per comfortable part, box size is small and fits perfectly in the palm , buds are easy to pull out and insert back. This is magnetic and charges fast. Fits perfectly in the ear and comes with 2 more size options. Good fit while running not the best! But it will fulfill the purpose.

Charging and Battery life-  

It takes about 80 mins and depending on charging device. 

Overall it give 20 hrs of charging ( 4.5 hrs buds and rest box) 

In the box charging is very fast.

Monopod - It works on both master mode you can use any of the buds at given time it will immediately connects to the phone. This comes handy when you have low battery and you can switch between buds and charge.

Sync between buds is seamless, ones or twice in 3 months I faced volume imbalance issue but after turning on off bluetooth of mobile fixes immediately.

Sound Quality - 

Listening to music is decent and not of the bass side, if you are a bass lover then you will not like this. It has a very little bass but overall sound quality is very good.

While on calls you will hear other person very clear but person on the other side would not or would ? This depends on multiple factor- 

 a) if you are in a silent environment then other person will hear you fine with not issue 

 b) If you are in very lite windy environment then they won't be able to hear you properly. Since no noise reduction is there.

 c) Since this is made for mid range users , so mostly you are using fan and cooler(specially in India) then god bless the other person, it give too much noise that they will complain to come to clamer place.

Auto Play/Pause Feature

This is best and the wort feature of Oneplus buds z

This is the deciding factor- 

1- If you are listening to music and someone calls you, you put out one bud and music stops. You insert the bud again music continues. Works perfect!

2- Now, You are watching a webseries/movie/YouTube and you plan on eating something. You open your mouth it stops the play , you resume the video manually and open mouth again to eat it stops the video again. 

This does not happen all the time but most of the time.( No one will tell you about this)

3- Now, You ate and time to bed , but your webseries/movie/YouTube is still pending, so you are lying on the bed and you turn your head right or left, guess what it pauses the video again and again.

This makes this so irritating that you will curse oneplus for this. And let me tell you, there is no fix for this, at leat not yet.

Gaming

 It has very low latency so it average on gaming use.

Other Features

 Apart from above there are more features, such as you can assign 4-5 separate tap task to each of the earbud

in you are not a oneplus user then you can use 3rd party app to do this. HeyMelody App

There is a find device features in which you can find your bud if lost nearby, it will beep.

So this pretty much sums up my review on oneplus buds Z now its up to you wether to buy it now or wait for the fix of above mentioned 2 big issue.
